Living alone with a chronic illness or health condition

You may have been living with an illness or health condition for time, and feel like you need a bit more support, or you may have been recently diagnosed. You may also be new to living by yourself!

When you live alone with a chronic illness or health condition, you may find your everyday life impacted in a number of ways. For example, you may need help with shopping, cleaning, getting out and about, and / or with personal care. You may be managing pain, fatigue or anxiety, juggling medical appointments, and possibly trying to manage your career at the same time. We also know that living with a chronic illness can mean coming to terms with the impact of your condition on your ability to live your life as you would like to.

In other words, there’s a lot to think about!

We’ve also rounded up a few of our own articles to get you on your way.

You may want to think about joining one of our community groups. Finally, you may want to have a look at our resources section, and in particular our bookshop.
